We had a party of ten and the waiter really didn't check on us. Someone at my table ordered the truffle Mac-n-cheese and didn't like it. My wife ordered the Grille Salad which she said was very good and better than most places. The mash potatoes were also very good and tasted fresh and homemade. The ribeye was very good and cooked perfectly. I ordered the 16 oz Ribeye steak with mash potatoes. I thought they tasted old and reminded me of deviled eggs already made from a grocery store not homemade. The wings are very good with plenty of meat, the avocado ranch they serve with it is very good and a nice break from regular ranch. Some things could have been better but my food was good. My fellow Yelp Elite daughter picked this place to have dinner and it was pretty good. And I loved the personal pot and tea setup. I finished with a green tea to help my heart, After all the heavy food. Some TV's were not even turned on, some lights were off, making some zones dark. Overall cleanliness - Restrooms were not clean, I felt the whole place needs a total cleaning. We tried rare and medium rare, and well done, all of them had a burned taste as after effect. Rib eye - not the best that I have eaten, it had a burned flavour, may be because of the way they cook it. The sampler beer - 6 samples - it's something worth trying once but not a big fan to try it everytime. (Would not recommend if you want to keep eating) I didn't take in a lot of chicken as it was very filling, for calamari the batter is filling. Sashimi was also good (worth eating again) ( You have to pay to get some quality)Īppetizer - Loved the blackened shrimp(taco) Spacious, private, good food and drinks for a medium rate. The cool thing is we didn't need reservations as we dropped in at 5:30 pm on a week night. Of course, we took home mounds of leftovers and had everything again on Friday evening at home! Our bill was under $200.00 and although that is $$$, it is worth the ambience, comfort, nostalgia and fulfilling fare in which we lavished ourselves! We had a cozy cocktail, the Old Fashion is so delicious and comforting and our dinner service was perfection. Fresh Broccoli, green beans, mashed and stuffed twice baked potatoes and of course the bread! The food doesn't disappoint, from the Prime Rib and steak entrees to the fish and chicken entrees and the "sides", especially the creamed corn, but all the dishes were like homemade. I so appreciate that they are still operating and in business. Ya know, they are the quintessential, Old World, British inspired decor, over the top, decorations and memorabilia, one of the last standing of it's kind. We had been here at Christmas of last year and also a family Thanksgiving a few years ago. We headed to Gulliver's across the street from John Wayne Airport in Orange County. My husband and I, at the last minute on a Thursday evening decided we were really hungry for some American/English comfort food.

Adults over-winter along the shoreline and can be seen hunting in almost any kind of weather. After fledging the young disperse around the area leading to crowding in prime hunting grounds. The young eat mainly small fish delivered by the harried parents. One colony can be observed in the Spring along McAllister Creek in the Nisqually Wildlife Refuge. Several large colonies are located in south Puget Sound. Great Blue Herons nest in large groups in tall trees near the water. The Great Blue Heron feeds mainly during the day, but occasionally will hunt at night. They even eat mice and other small mammals while patrolling open fields. When fishing in freshwater, herons eat frogs, fish and crayfish. To avoid getting spines or fins stuck in its throat, the heron shifts the unlucky dinner to a head-first position and then swallows. When prey is spotted, the neck unfurls hurling the head forward with lightening speed grabbing the unlucky meal. Hatching occurs after 23-25 days with the young immediately leaving the nest. They often nest far from water, where they build a concealed nest of dry grass and plant stems. Like other dabbling ducks they tend to nest earlier in the season, risking impacts from late winter storms. They leave in early spring for their inland, freshwater breeding sites. including as far north as northern Alaska and both the western and eastern parts of Canada. and Mexico including the Caribbean Islands. The American Wigeon ranges throughout North America with winter sojourns to the southern U.S. In addition they also come up on lawns to eat the grass. The other interesting aspect of their behavior is that they feed heavily on marine vegetation, mainly Sea Lettuce, during their winter layover. The call is very unusual and fun to listen to. While feeding along the shoreline they communicate with other flock members using a high whistling call. Hybridization between the species regularly occurs. The Eurasian Wigeon male has a dark rufus head with a muted white crown. However both males and females will occasionally stray south to Puget Sound. A close cousin, the Eurasian Wigeon, normally winters in the Aleutian Islands and Bering Sea. We lost one (we think it was from a round-up spraying in the field across the street from us). I do think if you have owned chickens, ducks can be a fun, easy addition. Now that I have a year of duck-ownership under my belt, I can tell you a few drawbacks and a few fabulous things about owning ducks. A mother duck may quack to find her precious stray duckling who has. If you don’t believe me, or want to see a duck in my house wearing a diaper go here. However, female ducks are the ones who quack, as male ducks do not make the same noises. Whereas males are heard less frequently, so much so that their quack sounds raspy with non-use. We turned into those weird people who have chickens walking around the inside of their house wearing diapers. They are known to blabber constantly and seemingly without end. So, I suppose we should celebrate our duck anniversary soon. This month one year ago we got our first ducklings. I’m not a duck expert, but am happy to share our experience. The average lifespan of a Pekin duck is roughly eight to 12 years. Jumbo Pekin ducks, a larger yet otherwise identical version of the breed, often his 12 pounds when they mature. Mature drakes (males) weigh approximately 9 pounds. I’ve found him on posted private and unattended property, I located the owner and she insists it’s her last. Mature Pekin duck hens (females) weigh around 8 pounds. I have quite a large pen, but after mating, my male has flown away. So, we have two dude ducks waddling around our farm being cute and providing yard art. I inherited a pair of Pekins male and female. We wanted eggs, but didn’t end up with a female. All models come with an eight-speed automatic transmission, standard all-wheel drive, and an adjustable air suspension. Land Rover estimates the V-8 will motivate the Range Rover Sport to 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds. The juiciest cut can be found in the P530 First Edition, which comes only with a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V-8 engine that pumps out a robust 523 horsepower. A plug-in hybrid P440e setup is exclusive to the fancy Autobiography trim and pairs an electric motor to the inline-six for a combined 434 horsepower. Our test vehicle delivered peerless ride quality though, which was appreciated over the broken tarmac near our Michigan headquarters. When we tested the P360 SE, it needed only 5.7 seconds to hit 60 mph but felt more sluggish than that around town where full-throttle launches aren't an appropriate activity. The entry-level engine is a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six that employs a 48-volt hybrid system and makes 355 horsepower in the P360 SE and 395 horsepower in the P400 SE Dynamic. Its extra horsepower will undoubtedly give it a bit of a boost both around town and on the highway and it offers a litany of luxury and convenience features without requiring a six-figure bill. We think the more powerful SE Dynamic is the trim to go with. An all-electric Range Rover Sport EV will enter the market next year as a 2024 model. Like the larger Range Rover, the mid-size Range Rover Sport has received a full redesign that includes fresh styling, a revamped cabin, and cutting-edge tech. But make no mistake, the Sport earns its place in the Range Rover lineup honestly and for several reasons, not the least of which is this: it looks like money. All this prestige doesn't come cheap, though, and the Range Rover Sport's starting price is higher than other deluxe SUVs such as the BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz GLE-class, and Volvo XC90. The cabin is premium and fitted with desirable tech, including Land Rover's latest Pivi Pro infotainment system and driver-assistance features to help with both on- and off-road driving. A trio of powertrains, including a hybrid inline-six, a plug-in hybrid inline-six, and a mega-power twin-turbo V-8 gives you a good variety of choices. Despite its smaller dimensions, the Sport has a similar silhouette to the more expensive Range Rover-but with an added dose of attitude. But if your budget is slightly less elastic, the 2023 Range Rover Sport is an alternative that's nearly as satisfying. If you're looking for a vehicle that combines off-road capability, luxury accommodations, and the status of an upper-crust image something from Land Rover's top-shelf Range Rover lineup should do just fine. Female would ideally be kept in a screen enclosure around 18” x 18” x 3’ tall. An adult male would ideally be housed in a screen enclosure around 2’ x 2’ x 4’ tall, although they can tolerate somewhat smaller enclosures. With adult veiled chameleons, the general rule is that bigger is better as far as their enclosure is concerned. Glass tanks, on the other hand, are difficult to find in appropriate sizes and create stagnant air, which can lead to upper respiratory infections. Veiled Chameleons do best in screen sided enclosures because of the increased airflow. The first step toward successfully keeping your chameleon happy and healthy is to set up their enclosure. Veiled Chameleons do well in captive environments with consistent care. Now that dedicated, reputable chameleon breeders are reliably producing high quality veiled chameleons, this stigma is no longer an issue. These wild caught chameleons are difficult to acclimate to captivity and often did poorly, even for experienced reptile keepers. In the past, it was difficult to obtain chameleons that were not wild caught. Fortunately, captive bred veiled chameleons purchased from a reputable breeder are actually quite hardy when provided with consistent care and a proper enclosure. Female veiled chameleons typically show less vibrant colors and live on average 4-6 years because even when not bred, they will produce infertile clutches of eggs, which take a lot of energy.Ī common misconception with chameleons is that they are very difficult animals to keep in captivity. Veiled Chameleon males of this species tend to exhibit more colors as well as a larger casque then female veiled chameleons and on average live 6-8 years. Veiled Chameleon males are born with a small nub on their back foot called a tarsal spur that females lack. Veiled Chameleons can be sexed from the day they hatch. Adults of this species exhibit coloration including different shades of green, orange, yellow, blue, browns and black with a combination of strips and spotted patterns. With males reaching a total length of as much as 2 feet and females reaching a total length of approximately 18 inches, this is one of the larger chameleon species seen in captivity and one of the most beautiful. Veiled Chameleons are a large, colorful species, which are easily recognized by the large casque or helmet of males on the top of the head. In its natural range, the Veiled Chameleon lives in coastal mountain slopes, which experience significant rainfall, and some live in slightly more arid “wadis” with year-round water and vegetation. More recently, this species has been introduced and has established small populations in areas such as the island of Maui in Hawaii. The Veiled Chameleon (Chamaeleo calyptratus), also known as the Yemen Chameleon, is a relatively large chameleon species originally from Saudi Arabia and Yemen in the Middle East. It is often rumoured that Walt Disney had asked his songwriters to write a song about a kite because of his two daughters. In this version, the scene recreates what happens at the beginning of the second book when Mary Poppins came back on the string of Michael's kite. The song appears in the 2004 stage musical version as well, but closer to the middle of the show and not at the show's end. The key of this song is also in B flat and has the flats of E flat and B flat The song was recrafted into a 3/4 waltz-like arrangement. The song was originally written in 4/4 or common time, but Walt Disney felt it was too much like the ending of a Broadway show and wanted a song that was more "breezy", like a waltz. The song was inspired by the Sherman Brothers' father, Al Sherman, who besides being a well-known songwriter in his day was also an amateur kite maker who made kites for neighbourhood children as a weekend hobby. Travers books, the metaphor of the mended kite (being a symbol of the mended Banks family) is taken from the 1961 Sherman Brothers screenplay treatment. DevelopmentĪlthough the notion of Mary Poppins gliding down a kite is mentioned incidentally in one of the P.L. In keeping with Mr Banks's change in character, this song was pre-recorded, and thus sung normally, by Tomlinson, rather than in his previous talk-singing in the Rex Harrison style, seen earlier in " The Life I Lead." This musical number also appears in the Sing Along Songs series of Disney videos. The song is sung by Tomlinson, Dick Van Dyke and eventually the entire chorus. He mends his son's kite and takes his family on a kite-flying outing. This song is performed at the end of the film when George Banks (played by David Tomlinson), realizes that his family is much more important than his job.
